I just got back from a trip to The XC. These 2 blokes in hard hats were, quite literally, digging out by hand the final few cm of the swimming pool. They were in the shallow end which will end up 5' deep. The deep end is going to be 8'.
It is not easy to judge the scale of the place but it is huge - biggest indoor concrete park in Europe. The next pic shows the space before the bowl has been dug out and before any of the rails are in.
The climbing wall is extreme too - check out these 2 snaps and the open crevices simulating 'real' outdoor conditions. There will be a loads or more traditional climbing wall hand and foot holds too.
High up in the roof void you should be able to see some white steel - this is the frame work which will support the high wires. The 180m of caving tunnels have been finished and are fully installed. I saw the recording studios with 8 layers of plasterboard and a tonne of fibreglass matting to make them sound proof. Oh yes, and the work on our two new shops is coming on nicely too!
